FAQ and Troubleshooting Guide

There are a lot of frequently asked questions and common mistakes users do during the installation.

It's really important you read everything that's written in Ultimate Immersion's Patreon posts as most of the time questions arise that are already explained there.

How do I download your textures?

To download Ultimate Immersion's resource pack, you need to go to his Patreon and head over to the latest "[Download]" post.
Note that links from older versions are always removed, but the latest version contains all older updates + the newest one.

Do I need your resource pack from Patreon to use mod?

Yes. Both mod and resource pack from Patreon are required for Ultimate Immersion Modern Archviz to work, otherwise you will result in pink/black textures or crash upon load.

Do I need SEUS PTGI shaders for your mod to work?

Not at all. You can use any shader you like, or none at all if you’re a MAC user or someone with graphically unsupported or low performance machine. You can still enjoy building with my mod in any lighting environment, but for the cost of visuals. SEUS PTGI currently looks best by far and my textures were designed in PTGI environment in the first place.

Why do I see pink/black textures?

There could be couple of reasons why you see them:

1. You forgot to load Ultimate Immersion's resource pack and are only using the mod.
2. You have both mod are resource pack loaded but you're using an older version of resource pack. That means newer models and textures can't load since they didn't exist in the resource pack version you're using.

Why does my game crash?

There could be many reasons why your game is crashing. Here's couple of them:

1. You forgot to load resource pack before loading the world containing Ultimate Immersion Modern Archviz mod blocks.
2. You're using an old version of resource pack with newer mod version.
3. You're using a pirated version of resource pack.
4. You're using an unsupported Forge version. Often latest version is not the best and still buggy, that's why it's recommended to go with a stable Forge version.

Forge versions Ultimate Immersion uses are 14.23.5.2768 for Minecraft 1.12.2 and 35.1.4 for Minecraft 1.16.4.

5. You did not allocate enough RAM. It is recommended to allocate at least 6G for x512, 10G for x1024 and 18G for x2048

Why does my game crash with x2048 textures?

At the moment x2048 is already over the limit of what Optifine can load, but only because of the Optifine bug that Ultimate Immersion already submitted and is waiting to get resolved. It's too much for the engine to handle when you try to F3+T reload the CTM textures of eg. road asphalt. Since Minecraft and Optifine engines are very limited in terms of texture loading, they quickly fill your allocated RAM but more so your GPU VRAM which is mainly the cause of the crashes. Basically when reloading the pack with F3+T it reloads the whole pack again and doubling your RAM and VRAM usage without flushing it. This then results in reaching the resource limits and crash.

So until Optifine resolves the loading bug x2048 will have to remain split and only be used one at time.
There are no such issues with x512 and x1024 however.

Why do I have to reload textures with F3+T?

F3+T reload upon entering the game world is necessary due to Optifine CTM loading bug that Ultimate Immersion already submitted and is waiting to get resolved. Optifine should load everything on the first load with Forge but CTM textures do not successfully load with that. Instead they can be loaded by forcing another reload with F3+T.
When this bug is fixed, many things will get resolved for Ultimate Immersion Modern Archviz mod.

I loaded the world but I still see vanilla textures, why?

Ultimate Immersion Modern Archviz mod is not meant for survival. It's meant for creative modern architectural visualization only and due to performance reasons, it is recommended to run it in a flat world.
So why is Ultimate Immersion not texturing every single block? Because it would be impossible for any PC to load and run it in such high resolution and in combination with shaders.

Where can I find mod blocks?

Go to your creative block selection panel in the game and using the arrows move to the second page of GUI tabs. There you'll find all model category tabs from the mod. You can also use the search bar to find blocks.

My glass appears like water, what should I do?

It's just a shader loading bug of custom translucent block IDs. To fix it, all you need to do is go to shader settings and turn the shader off and on again.

Why are my tree leaves ugly and square?

Because you need to set your game tree settings from "Fast" to "Fancy". Go to Video Settings -> Details.

REQUIRED SEUS PTGI SETTINGS

Settings highlighted with red are required to achieve exact same results you see in Ultimate Immersion's screenshots and videos. The rest of the settings should be set depending on your system specifications.

CUSTOM EMISSIVE TEXTURES INSTALLATION

To make custom mod block lights to work in Ultimate Immersion's mod you need to replace his files with the ones in SEUS PTGI or SEUS HRR shader archive.
This download link to these files and installation instructions can also be found on his Patreon under the download posts.

Attention! This only works for the SEUS PTGI or SEUS HRR and not any other!

Optimization Tips

You don't need a "NASA PC" to run this mod and shaders, although it's strongly advised to optimize your game to achieve best possible performance for your system specs, and understand what kind of pack your system can handle. Here are couple of optimization tips to make your gameplay more pleasant and by applying all of them, it may dramatically increase your framerate.

1. SEUS PTGI OPTIMIZATION SETTINGS

If you're struggling with a playable framerate you should definitely check your shader settings. Here are the most important settings that cause more real time processing.

Though most performance demanding PTGI settings among all are "Reflection Trace Length" and "Atmospheric Godrays".

2. VANILLA GAME VIDEO SETTINGS

Lowering render distance may drastically improve your performance.

If you don't see random block rotations, like leaves or models that use random properties, enabling alternate blocks will fix this.

3. SIZE MATTERS

When building, it's advised to use lowest x512 texture resolution resource pack as you will be able to get the highest framerate out of it. Less pixels in each texture means faster real-time rendering. When you're done, you can load a higher resolution texture pack, and view your creation in stunning detail.

4. DON'T PLAY ON FULLSCREEN

If you're struggling with a playable framerate, don't play on fullscreen. Play it on windowed mode (shortcut to enable/disable it is F11). This will change your performance most dramatically. The smaller the window the more FPS you will get.
